Who Is Faust Ruggiero?

Faust A. Ruggiero’s professional career spans almost 40 years, and is diversified and compelling, as it has consistently established new and exciting cutting-edge counseling programs in its pursuit of professional excellence and personal life enhancement. He is a published research author, clinical trainer, and a therapist who has worked in settings that have included clinics for deaf children, prisons, nursing homes, substance abuse centers, inpatient facilities, major corporations, both national and international, and as the President of the Community Psychological Center in Bangor, Pennsylvania. In that capacity, he developed the Process Way of Life counseling program, and has developed it into a formal text presented in the Fix Yourself Handbook.

Upon graduating from Mansfield University in 1977, Mr. Ruggiero enrolled in the graduate program in Psychology at Illinois State University. There, with a dual major in clinical and developmental psychology, with a minor in research, he assisted in the publication of several research articles, including his thesis “The effects of prosocial and antisocial television programs on the cognitions of children”.

Upon leaving graduate school, Mr. Ruggiero began working with Antoinette Goffredo counseling services providing psychological intervention to adolescent deaf children. There, he helped Ms. Goffredo develop a behavioral management program for profoundly deaf children with residual hearing.

In 1982, he accepted a position with the Lehigh Valley Alcohol Counseling Center. There he provided individual counseling services to clientele suffering from alcohol abuse and addiction, including the introduction to both the twelve-step recovery process, and family and intervention services. It was at the alcohol counseling center, where Mr. Ruggiero was asked to develop a Phase 2 counseling program for individuals convicted of drunk driving offenses.

In 1984, Mr. Ruggiero left the Alcohol Counseling Center to pursue a treatment position at Northampton County prison. There, he provided psychological and substance abuse intake and counseling services to inmates. He coordinated all substance abuse services, and program development services for inmates. In 1986, he obtained his certification in substance abuse treatment in the state of Pennsylvania.

He left Northampton County prison in 1989 pursue his endeavors at the Community Psychological Center on a full-time basis. As president of the Community Psychological Center, Mr. Ruggiero continued to provide services to individuals, families, those suffering with substance abuse, abused women and women in transition, couples and marriage counseling, counseling for veterans, law enforcement, and other first responders. He began to provide employees assistance programs to corporations the state of Pennsylvania in 1990. Since then, he has been recognized nationally and internationally for his business approaches focused on strengthening corporate administrations, and their workforces. In 1994, Mr. Ruggiero accepted an invitation to become a trainer for the Department of Health in Pennsylvania.

Mr. Ruggiero also provides counseling services for first responders, law enforcement, and other emergency personnel. Following several years of experimentation regarding the various therapeutic approaches that could be applied to clients individually, in families, social relationships, and business and corporate settings, Mr. Ruggiero developed and began utilizing the Process Way of Life Program. The program consists of over fifty internal human processes, which can be accessed and developed to help clients address the various conditions which were affecting their lives.

After the program was developed, it was rigorously researched and tested, and changes were made culminating in the approach presently being used by Mr. Ruggiero at the Community Psychological Center.

In the summer of 2016, Mr. Ruggiero decided to develop the Process Life Program into a text that can be published, and would help people in need address the difficult situations that are affecting their lives. The Fix Yourself Handbook was completed in December of 2019. On February 1st, 2020, The Fix Yourself Handbook received the Silver Award from The Nonfiction Authors Association. Transforming Troubling Relationships
by Guy Finley -
Radio Host of  "Letting Go"
Tuesdays, 6pm PT

We all know how it feels when another person - especially someone we say we love - does something we don't like. What happens to the love in a moment like that? It flies out the window as we resist what the other person is doing. They are bringing up reactions in us that make us uncomfortable, and so we push them away, criticize them, and blame them for the way we feel.
It's a common response, but when we do that, we're wasting an opportunity for our own transformation. In that moment I'm being introduced to qualities that I'm presently asleep to in myself: my insistence that things go my way, the part of me that gets easily threatened, etc. Only by seeing these things, can I ever change.

Until we recognize that relationships serve to reveal hidden aspects of ourselves that have been a limitation to enlarging our life, we will not be transformed, nor can our relationships be perfected.

Can I resist any moment in my life and learn from it at the same time? No. If I reject the lesson, I reject life, and if I reject life, I reject the Love that's giving me both life and the lesson.

I'm denying the teacher knocking at my door because living within me is a false teacher, a false body of ideas, that tells me that only what I believe is for me is actually on my side. That level of consciousness has divided life up into good and bad, light and dark, up and down. It draws a line between myself and whatever has come to reveal what stands in my way of knowing an authentically unconditional love - a love that embraces every lesson life brings regardless of how challenging it feels in the moment.

Consider for a moment, what is it about any event that's troubling to me? When you think about it, it isn't really what that person did. I'm troubled because what they did is stirring in me something I don't want to see - like my selfish insistence that everyone must align their behavior with my preferences.

If something's troubling me, it means I came into the moment with that unseen nature, just waiting to be stirred into action. The condition doesn't create the negative consciousness I experience. It reveals the consciousness that's always there.

If the event reveals the consciousness I've brought into the moment, and that consciousness can only resist or hate the moment or someone in it, then that's what I need to recognize. Blaming the event or that person for how I feel changes nothing. If I blame, I miss the lesson in the moment that could transform the nature that makes impossible demands, and then suffers for them.

We're unhappy when we live from a body of unseen psychological demands that require balancing and harmonizing. But so often when the moment of revelation comes to help us harmonize these unseen aspects of ourselves, we reject the teacher and instead, stand with the old, habitual nature that lives in us, insisting that people and events must be what we need them to be so nothing ever bugs us. And in that way we've already assured there will soon be a situation where we get bugged.

So, the real question is, how deeply am I willing to learn in these moments? How willing am I to let the moment change the whole of me, instead of me trying to change a part of you so that I can be at peace?

When we approach our relationships with others with this new wish to learn and be transformed by them, then we will change, and our relationships will be perfected as they're meant to be.

Spiritual Respect
by Linda Mackenzie, C.H.T., Ph.D. ( c )

The dictionary defines the noun "respect" as the following:

The act of respecting or noticing with attention; the act of holding in high esteem; deference or honor;
a state of being held in honor or esteem; to show consideration for; regard; courteous expression of respect; regards;
a particular point or detail; partiality; undue bias to the prejudice of justice; consideration; motive in reference to something;
relation; regard; reference; as in respect for your problem.

These are all meanings of respect on a human level, but how does it apply spiritually? What is spiritual respect? Where does it come from? How and when should you use it?

What is Spiritual Respect?

Spiritual respect is not earned in the sense of what you know or what you achieve on your life path journey. It does not come from judgment, expectation, the need for control, the need to be right, negative emotions like jealousy or worry about what other people think, rationalization, attitudes or feelings on what you want or think "respect" should be. It is not used for personal gain, ego or power. Spiritual respect is a God-given right held by all living things that should be honored, esteemed and regarded by everyone at all times. It is not demanding. It does not encompass judgment from human mores and values. It is the awareness of seeing beyond human limitations and conditions to the positive life force in every living thing.

Where Does It Come From?

  • A deep abiding unshakable Faith
  • Trust
  • Development of an inner knowing
  • Balance of power and energy
  • Positive energy
  • Hope
  • Charity
  • Grounding, focus and centeredness
  • Experience

How to Use Spiritual Respect?

  • Separate human emotion/physical respect experiences from spiritual respect experience.
  • Use awareness to see beyond human limitations and conditions to the positive life force of every living thing.
  • Honor and esteem the uniqueness and energy in every living thing.
  • Act honorably and use gentle regard without judgment.
  • To realize the personal journey of all is a unique process perceived from their own perspective which is their growth path to higher consciousness.
  • Find the positiveness in each situation.
  • Walk through fear and judgment.
  • Think of the ramifications on all around you before you act.
  • Welcome change as an opportunity.
  • Take responsibility for your actions.
  • Use the Power of intention and positive thought.
  • Do not intrude on anyone's free will.
  • Balance receiving and giving.
  • Self-empower people in their path of self-discovery.
  • Use kindness.
  • Perceive how people or things will receive your actions, thoughts and feelings.
  • Understand that we are all one and make a positive impact on existence through every word, thought and deed.
  • Understand that everything has value.
  • Benefit mankind and the world.
  • Come from love in all things-

How to Develop Spiritual Respect.

  • Live in the Moment - not the past or future.
  • Let go of judgment.
  • Let go of rigid goals and expectation.
  • Let go of rationalization.
  • Let go of negative thoughts and phrases like can't, shouldn't, wouldn't, if...
  • Let go of negative emotions like hate, discrimination, anger, jealousy, hate, self-pity, guilt.
  • Develop responsibility for your actions.
  • Eliminate fear on all levels.
  • Let go of ego.
  • Realize there are no secrets.
  • Realize there are no mistakes.
  • Take care of your body, mind and spirit.
  • Reduce the 4 levels of stress in your life (physical, emotional, nutritional and environmental).
  • Practice relaxation.
