Guy Finley
Host of: Guy Finley Live
3rd Tuesday, 9 a.m. PST
Each month we focus on one of our great hosts and this month we are talking to Guy Finley who is one of the world's most loved and respected practical spirituality teachers.

HL: What sparks your passion for the work you do?
1. Knowing that whatever freedom's path requires of me it will also supply me, if I just keep walking.

2. The knowledge that no sincere effort ever goes without being rewarded.

3. That our truest strength lies in our ability to realize that whatever our present weakness may be, it is only temporary, provided we are willing to persist, to wade into what seems greater than we are, and to test this truth time and time again.

HL: What do you recommend to someone in answering their own life calling?
The great ones in life are not those who are handed silver spoons. Their excellence comes from digging into the raw ore of their own character, and through hard work, persistence, and faith turning whatever they touch into gold. Above all, persist with your wish to learn and grow, and then work to bring your developing understanding into the world. When someone has a genuine love for something, the love that person has was placed there for a specific purpose. The difficulty is waiting -- patiently (but with eyes wide open), expectantly -- for where that love one has will lead them to the fulfillment of itself… for this is the only way in which such a love can be fulfilled. Lastly: One way of knowing that you have found your true purpose in life is that you no longer wish to be in any place other than right where you are.

HL: If someone is going through adverse times what words of advice can you offer?
First, we must have a new understanding of what we call our "situation" in life: It isn't that painful event I see that needs to be changed, but rather the way in which I see it. This means that until we can find a comfort, confidence, and security that exists apart from a life sought for and experienced through our senses, then we have no choice but to suffer the inevitable sense of loss inherent in being identified with a world that is ever passing away. In many ways, the best blessings in life often arrive disguised... and those of us who will be patient enough to live in the presence of what seems to be a loss, or painful limitation of some kind, will soon see that temporary mask fall away, and see before us an impossibly kind and just face.

HL: Name three words that best describe you?
Curious, Serious, Determined

HL: What type of music do you listen to?
Pretty much across the board while driving in my car, leaning more towards soft rock; but at home, and played at my Foundation are the vocalizations of certain Eastern Orthodox Choirs, some chanting, and classical music.

HL: What do you do to relax?
Contemplate, meditate, play golf, work on my Bonsai trees.

12 Secrets to Living Stress Free
by Guy Finley -
Radio Host of "Guy Finley Live! "
3rd Tuesday every month, 9am PT

1. Real Success is not measured by what you are driven to achieve, but by what you can quietly understand.

2. Letting Go is the natural release which always follows the realization that holding on hurts.

3. Why seek answers to tormenting questions when it is possible to realize there is no intelligence in torment? So simply drop those painful questions.

4. See the upset not as an exterior circumstance to be remedied, but as an interior condition to be understood.

5. Your secret strength knows that your secret weakness isn't really yours at all.

6. Letting Go is all about finding out what you are not, and then having the courage to leave it at that.

7. Instead of always asking how to get others to approve of you... learn to ask: What do I really want, the applause of the crowds or to quietly have my own life?

8. Chasing after a pleasure to ease a pain is like running after a breeze to cool you down.

9. Real freedom is the absence of the self that feels trapped, not the trappings that the self requires to make it feel free.

10. Letting Go of yourself is Letting Go of your problems, for they are one and the same.

11. The only thing you lose when you let go of something you are afraid to live without is the fear itself.

12. Go along with your longing to be Limitless.

Surprise! Google Analytics DOES NOT Track Radio Listeners

Google Analytics does a great job at analyzing data for website stats. However Google Analytics tracks only their own Google search engine results which does not include Bing, Yahoo, Alexa or other search engine data statistics. They also do not, and most times, cannot track a streaming media listening audience.

Here's why...Listener numbers come from an independent audio streaming server. This audio server is not a webpage on a website but actually a separate data stream, usually housed on a separate server from the radio stations website server. It is linked ON a website page but as in the case of Radio the radio button link is on almost every page of our 60+ page website and not on just on one Landing page.

Google Analytics CAN track how many people come to a website page that contains a link to the audio stream but unfortunately that is not always the actual listener data. Actual listener data can only come from the audio server stream data. also has 62+ syndicators/simulcast distribution channels that pick up our LIVE audio stream and rebroadcast it out to their many listeners - but to our audio search engine each one looks like just one listener. In reality these 62 distribution channels could be accessing 100s, 1,000s or 1,000,000 more listeners a day per channel. Think the numbers are high? Here's an example - When Radio was on the now defunct Microsoft Radio Tuner, was 1 of 68 talk radio stations. Microsoft Radio Tuner was available to 1 billion worldwide internet devices a day. 1% of listenership would provide with 1 million more listeners a day but again to our streaming server they look like only 1 listener.

Podcast and on-demand listening all have different criteria that is tracked differently in an audio streaming server. Again website hit analysis is not the same as tracking websites so unfortunately using Google Analytics to rate Live streaming Listener Audience size just cannot be done.

What is Menopause?
by Linda Mackenzie, C.H.T., Ph.D. (c)

Every day an estimated 6,000 women reach menopause which equivocates to about 2 million women a year. By the year 2020 more than 50 million U.S. women will be over the age of 51.

The change of life in Western society is sometimes viewed as a negative experience. Why is that? In the past menopause was shrouded in mystery, and nobody talked about it. Also, there was not enough information given out, so the concept of menopause became very scary and fearful.

At the turn of the century, menopause in women began in the mid-forties. At that time life expectancy was only fifty-one years of age, so menopause was associated with nearing the end of life or death.

Menopause is not a disease that needs treatment - it is a natural part of living. It is a time when a woman reaches her own power - a time of wisdom and knowledge.

The definition of menopause is the cessation of menstrual periods and the ability to reproduce. It happens because the body's estrogen production slows down and ovulation stops.

Some medical doctors say that actual test results are the only way to prove that you are in menopause. They consider a woman to be in menopause only if menstruation has stopped.

They also define menopause as being completed when a woman has not menstruated for one year.

Many researchers believe there is a genetic link and that woman will experience menopause in the same time frames and with the same symptoms as their mothers and grandmothers.

Perhaps this limited viewpoint is because most of the past research was done for men and not women. Thank goodness this is changing. We now have more woman doctors than ever before. They are at least aware of what is really happening in a woman's body.

Menopause is a gradual process. The time right before a woman enters true menopause is called pre-menopause or peri-menopause. It is the time of menopause transition. Peri-menopause can start in the late thirties to the mid-forties. The average age for a woman to begin true menopause is about 51.3 years of age.

Symptoms of true menopause usually begin in the mid-forties to the mid-fifties and may take several years to subside. During peri-menopause and menopause symptoms can range from none to many different symptoms. If you do have symptoms, they can be experienced for varying lengths of time. Symptoms can sometimes last over a five to thirteen year period.

Menopause is an individualized process. Your lifestyle, nutrition, emotional and mental stability, and your spirituality all play a part in how a woman relates and reacts to menopause. It is different for each woman...And there is no ONE way to treat menopause. Each woman must research and find the best ways to handle menopause for herself.

September - Let Go Like Autumn Leaves

The weather will soon have the whiff of Fall in the air. That indescribable shift not only in temperature, but in the energy within and around us. It's whispering 'time for a change.' Colorful leaves falling help us celebrate the letting go unwanted things in our life that no longer make sense to keep. Getting us clear for winter where we can rest, plan and prepare for the upcoming renewal of Spring.

Autumn leads us into winter so here are some fun folklore
tips about just that. How about some Squirrel Wisdom - did you know that there will be a tough winter is ahead if squirrels’ tails are very bushy? Insect Wisdom - It will be a tough winter when birds migrate early or bees build their nests high in the trees. Plants are also into the winter diagnosis business. Here's some Plant Wisdom - When leaves drop early, autumn and winter will be mild; but if they fall late, winter will be severe; If apple skins and onion skins are tough or there are plenty of nuts and berries - winter will also be tough.

But no matter what the weather is outside we can prepare and be ready for change in a positive way...and...since Radio is all about being positive --from our hosts to our programs -- we can help! is all about opening your eyes and shifting your change to the positive side. Here's how our hosts are helping you this month...Sept 4, 9am PT join Dr. Gloria Gilbere for Arsenic in My WHAT?; Sep 5,11am PT join Dr. Jane Greer for Freud Over Easy; Sept 12, 8am PT join the Linda Mackenzie Show with talk about Fairies, Pookas and Changelings followed by Robert Moss at 9am PT about Dreaming: the American Civil War; Sep 14, 1pm PT join Dawson Church for Integrity Culture Systems; Sep 18 at 12pm PT listen to Real Food with Dr. Theresa Nicassio; Sep 21 at 11am PT join Donna Parker for Safe in Your Home; Sep 25, 11 am PT join Americam Made Beauty for Technology Intertwines with Haircolor; Sep 26 at 10am PT join Maryanne Live to find out how to Reclaiming Your Body.
