Who is Dawson Church?

Church’s second best-seller, Mind to Matter reviews the science behind the brain’s remarkable ability to create material reality, and was named “Best Health Book” by the American Book Fest. Church followed this with Bliss Brain, which analyzes the transcendent “flow” states found in meditation and peak performance, and how these rapidly remodel the brain for happiness.

Dawson has been involved in over 100 scientific studies published in peer-reviewed journals, many as Principal Investigator. He has collaborated with researchers from prestigious institutions including Harvard Medical School, California Pacific Medical Center, Emory, Columbia and Duke. He has edited several special issues for top-ranked journals such as Frontiers in Psychology. Church spent some 20 years engaging in outcome studies focusing on posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, and anxiety. He founded the peer-reviewed journal Energy Psychology: Theory, Research, and Treatment and after earlier managing Aslan Publishing now serves as the general manager of Energy Psychology Press. To train professionals in evidence-based stress reduction methods such as meditation and Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT acupressure tapping), in 2010 Church established EFT Universe, one of the most-visited alternative medicine sites on the web. He developed the EcoMeditation method to make meditation easy for novices.

Church’s academic journey began during his undergraduate and graduate studies at Baylor University. He became the first-ever graduate of the academically rigorous University Scholar’s program in 1979. He went on to earn his doctorate in Integrative Healthcare at Holos University under the mentorship of the eminent neurosurgeon, Dr. Norman Shealy, MD, PhD, founder of the American Holistic Medical Association, and later a post doctorate in Natural Medicine. With Dr Shealy he co-authored the book Soul Medicine which reviews role of energy in healing throughout history.

Church’s most recent research focuses on self-transcendent experiences, such as those found in deep meditation and “flow” states. fMRI research demonstrates that the EcoMeditation method he developed results in rapid brain remodeling, downregulating regions associated with suffering and increasing activity in brain areas linked to compassion and happiness.

Though Church retired from active business management in 2023, he continues his journey in science and mysticism with blogs, studies, podcasts and books. He splits his time between Nevada, Hawaii and California. He is married to Christine Church, a noted painter, and together they enjoy time with their children and grandchildren.

Find Peace in the Right Place at the Right Time

We have an essential need to be at peace. Part of that essential need to be at peace is to know that we are in the right place at the right time, doing the right thing, and to know it in such a fashion that nothing can come along and convince us that we are not. Have you ever thought to yourself "I'm doing the right thing at the right time" and someone said, "No, you're not," and everything fell apart?

To work at living in Presence, we need only bring our attention back into ourselves, quietly knowing we are aware of all that we are, and all that's going on around us at the same time.

With this awareness, we can actually see when there is a negative thought, a negative feeling, something that is telling us what we've got to do, to be, to get, to win -- whatever it is -- and at the moment that negative thought presents itself to us, we can refuse to fight with it. We don't even need to replace it with anything. All we need to do is recognize that the reason it is troubling us is because we have become identified with it. And when we become the negative thought or the negative feeling, we become its dupe. We become that which is used by the darkness instead of allowing the living light in us to transform that darkness as it is intended to.
Here is a way to work: You can sit at lunch with people and work to stay present to yourself so that when you say the "dumb thing", instead of going back over it and trying to figure out how you can be approved of next time so you won't say the stupid thing, you drop it. You drop what divides you. But to drop what divides you, you have to be awake to it.

When we are awake to what divides us, we are doing the work of living in Presence. We are actually living in the moment, being at that moment what we were created to be... that which transforms the darkness into the light by letting the light reveal that darkness in us. We are in the right place, doing the right thing, for the right reasons. And only we can do that. As we do that, lo and behold, the gift of Presence is given to us, and to the people around us. When we actually understand what it means to be whole, to be awake, in that moment there is nothing that can happen to us that isn't right, true, bright, and good.

Natural Health Tips for Shingles

Shingles, also known as Herpes Zoster, is a viral infection that affects the nerve endings in the skin and causes a painful rash. When the shingles is activated and the virus hits the nerve endings it send signals to the brain which interprets it as severe pain, itching, burning and makes the skin most sensitive. It can occur to anyone at any age but mostly hits those over 50.

CAUSE
Shingles is caused by the varicella-zoster virus - the same virus that causes chickenpox. After you've had chickenpox, the virus lies inactive in nerve tissue near your spinal cord and brain. Years later, the virus may reactivate as shingles if and when you have a weakened immune system. However more recently Shingles may be caused by getting a COVID vaccine.

A study of the Pfizer vaccine published in the New England Journal of Medicine used two different measures of risk and a data set of more than 2.4 million vaccinated Israelis and the result confirmed the vaccine is associated with an excess risk of shingles - as well as inflammation of the heart, lymph node abnormalities and appendicitis. This and other reports pin blame not just on the Pfizer shots but also on Moderna's mRNA shot and all the other major COVID vaccines in use around the world, including China's Sinovac, India's Covaxin, AstraZeneca and the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Other causes of Shingles are cancer, the use of anti-cancer drugs, stress, spinal cord injuries, HIV, or the use of medications such as corticosteroids or cyclosporin. In most cases one usually cannot determine what the trigger is.

SYMPTOMS
Usually an attack of Shingles is preceded by 3 or 4 days of chills, fever and achiness. Then a crop of tiny fluid filled blisters appear. Although shingles can occur anywhere on your body, it most often appears as a single stripe of blisters that wraps around either the left or the right side of your abdomen underneath the ribs. This can be accompanied by: depression, fatigue, numbness, painful, swollen lymph nodes fever, shooting pain and headache. This stage of shingles can last 7-14 days. The blisters usually form scabs and drop off. Most cases of Shingles last a few weeks however, aggressive cases can be months or years after the blisters have disappeared.

The signs and symptoms usually affect only a small section of one side of your body and may include:

-- Pain, burning, numbness or tingling -- Sensitivity to touch -- A red rash that begins a few days after the pain -- Itching -- Fever --Fluid-filled blisters that break open and crust over -- Headache -- Sensitivity to light -- Fatigue

Other complications from shingles can include:
-- Postherpetic neuralgia (shingles pain continues long after the blisters are gone) -- Vision loss -- Skin Infections -- Neurological problems ( inflammation of the brain (encephalitis), facial paralysis, hearing, balance problems) -- Attacking internal organs such as the lungs, kisneys and liver.


NATURAL HEALING METHODS FOR SHINGLES

AROMATHERAPY ESSENTIAL OIL - use the highest quality oils. Add few drops to a tablespoon to one of these carrier oils: olive, almond. or peanut.
-- Bergamot
-- Geranium
-- Eucalyptus
-- Lemon
--Goldenseal
Add few drops to a tablespoon of one of these carrier oils: Olive, almond. Or peanut

Here is a special formula you can try that may help Shingles in 3 days:

Zatar Lamb

Cooking Time: 35 minutes per pound; roasting pan
Oven Temperature: 325° F

4-5 lb. lamb (rolled)
2 cloves garlic (cut into pieces)
Olive oil
Zatar (spice)
Sea salt and black pepper to taste

Place lamb in roaster. Randomly, throughout the roast, take a knife and make a small slit and insert a piece of garlic.
Brush lemon juice all over the roast. Brush olive oil all over the roast. Sprinkle with sea salt and black pepper.
Pat Zatar spice in a thin coating all over the roast. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Next day place lamb in roasting pan into the 325° F oven and roast 35 minutes a pound. Serve.

Hint: Zatar is an Mid-Eastern spice mix that is not only flavorful but can act as a natural digestive.

Fresh Mint Sauce

½ cup lemon juice (or white vinegar)
1 cup water
¼ cup chopped mint leaves
¼ cup lemon juice
¼ cup water
2 teaspoons maple syrup
¼ teaspoon sea salt
¼ teaspoon chopped mint leaves

Combine ¼ cup lemon juice, ½ cup water and mint. Simmer until liquid is reduced to one half. Strain. Add ¼ cup lemon juice, ¼ cup water, maple syrup, sea salt and mint leaves. Stir and chill.

Lamb Gravy

Lamb drippings
3 tablespoons brown flour (or cornstarch)
Sea salt and black pepper to taste
1 ½ - 2 cups boiling water

Take drippings from roasting pan. Add brown rice flour (or cornstarch). Add sea salt and black pepper. Whisk in boiling water. Bring to a boil. Then turn down and simmer until gravy thickens. (You may have to skim off some of the lamb fat on the surface.) Serve immediately.
